As part of the closing celebration of Nutrient Rich on Friday, December 20, 2024, Goodyear Arts is presenting Unsilent Night. The closing celebration of the exhibition is from 6 to 9 p.m., and Unsilent Night takes place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both are free events.
Goodyear Arts announced this event on their Facebook page.
Unsilent Night, a multi-track electronic, ambient piece composed by Phil Kline, is a participatory sound walk that’s become a holiday tradition around the world. Unsilent Night has been performed all over the world, every December since 1992.
Participants bring a charged smartphone and a bluetooth speaker. As they walk together through Camp North End, they create what’s described as a “roving sound wash,” or a “mobile sound sculpture.”
Apple cider will be provided prior to the performance. Goodyear Arts is at 301 Camp Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, North Carolina, in the Mount District of Camp North End.
