Your kids have been home for a while and maybe it’s time to pull a new trick out of your hat. Enter Google 3D animals.
If you haven’t tried this yet, it’s good for entertaining bored kids, or maybe bored adults. (Scroll down for more ideas for fun things for kids to do at home.)
Google has introduced a number of 3D animals that you can view in Google Search using AR (augmented reality.)
The newest Google 3D animal is the Easter Bunny!
To find one, search for an animal on Google Chrome on your smartphone. We’ve found that this does not work with the Google App–just with Google Chrome. (Your experience might be different.)
Make sure that you allow Google to access your camera (in settings.)
This capability is not be available on every phone.
How to find Google 3D animals
Search for Lion. Near the top of the search results you should see a picture of a lion and the words “Meet a life-sized lion up close.” Click on “View in 3D.”
Give it a little time and move your phone around, and you should see a lion in the room, in an AR experience. It will move around a little bit, and act lion-like.
Depending on where you point your phone, you can see different angles of the animal. Get close and it’s bigger.
If your kids feel like doing something creative, maybe they can take screen shots of different animals in your home, even with their own pets or siblings, and use them as inspiration to make up stories.
