The Great Backyard Bird Count is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. It takes place all over the world.
Members of the public watch birds, counting them and recording observations, which helps scientists in their study of birds.
At Wing Haven, 260 Ridgewood Avenue, you can participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count Friday, February 14, and Monday, February 17, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Admission is FREE during these hours. Please register for one of these events:
Volunteers from Wing Haven, as well as the Mecklenburg Audubon Society, will be on hand providing guided walks, sharing educational information, and enjoying the count alongside you or your group.
This activity is recommended for everyone, children and adults, bird novices and bird experts alike.
