Let your taste buds be the judge at Viva La Cook Triple Crown Grill Off and Food Wisdom Day at 7th Street Public Market, 224 East 7th Street, on Saturday, March 7th, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Celebrity chef Mero Cocinero will host a barbecue contest, where four teams will compete to create the best plate of food using the “Triple Crown” of vegetable, starch and protein. Special prizes will be awarded in each category and the audience is the judge.
After the Triple Crown, local chefs will prepare family dishes that have nourished generations. Audience members will get to participate in the making of the dish, listen to the stories and share their own.
