The Christmas season is filled with music, but none exemplifies the season as much as Handel’s Messiah, especially the Christmas part. It’s become a tradition to attend a performance of The Messiah in December, and there are several chances to do so in the Charlotte area in 2023.

Charlotte Music Club
Charlotte Music Club is presenting Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 501 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is their 69th annual performance of Handel’s Messiah.
The performance features the Charlotte Community Chorus and Orchestra under the director of conductor Ginger Wyrick. The ensemble is joined with soloists Cynthia Farbman Harris, Kristen Wonderlich, Michael Owens, and John Blizzard.
It’s free to the community.
Charlotte Symphony
Charlotte Symphony is performing Handel’s Messiah at Knight Theater, 430 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC, on the following dates and times:
- Friday, December 1, 2023, 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, December 2, 2023, 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, December 3, 2023, 3 p.m.
