We’ve listed the basic info for each attraction, but make sure to follow the links to get the latest info, and to buy tickets in advance if required.
These are all outdoor attractions, so you should call them or check their social media if the weather is questionable.
Some or most of these haunted trails will not be suitable for young children.

Often listed as the best, or one of the best, haunts in North Carolina. Lake Hickory Haunts includes 13 unique haunted attractions, all around the lake.

Themed sets: Mineshaft, Pirate Ship, Backwoods Theater (new), Boogerassic Park, Booger Labs, Earl’s Small Engine Repair, Twister, Midnight Taxi, Booger Maze, Club Booger, Boogerwoods Campground, Booger Vortex, The Museum. Raises money for help cure Cystic Fibrosis.

Matthews Playhouse Halloween Haunted Trail

Ticket price: $10 for either trail. $5 for the activities only during the early session (no trail.)
From 5:30 to 7 p.m., bring young children to the “Not So Spooky” trail. Also, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., kids can enjoy the Halloween Fun Zone for $5, including activities like trunk or treat, games, crafts and face painting. Tickets to the “Not So Spooky” trail includes tickets to the Halloween Fun Zone. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the trail will be a “Full Fright” Trail.

It’s the biggest and most elaborate haunted attraction in Charlotte. It’s also the most expensive. However, if you sign up for Charlotte on the Cheap’s newsletter, we have a great discount for SCarowinds!
