Urban Ministry, whose mission is to help end homelessness in Charlotte, is holding Holiday Hoopla, its annual art show and open house on Sunday, December 11th, 2016, 2016, from from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
It takes place at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Rd. Shop for paintings, stocking stuffers, ornaments and more made by ArtWorks 945 artists available for sale. The proceeds benefit the artists and Urban Ministry’s mission to end homelessness in Charlotte.
ArtWorks 945, an out reach program of the Urban Ministry Center, uses art as an engagement tool to connect with individuals experiencing homelessness in Charlotte. Through the positive act of creating art, our artists work towards opening a hopeful doorway where anything is possible.
Also this year, the celebration will feature a soccer game played by Street Soccer 945 players. Street Soccer 945 is a curriculum-based program that uses soccer as a vehicle to address the issues of homelessness in Charlotte, NC.
Players participate in weekly practices, local leagues, and national tournaments to develop the skills necessary to improve health, education, and employment outcomes, creating long-term change their lives.
