2022 is the United Nations’ International Year of Glass. This is a year-long celebration of the role that glass plays in our society.
Hot Glass Alley, Charlotte’s first glass-blowing studio, is celebrating the International Year of Glass with a special celebration on April 2nd, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The studio holds monthly open demos, but this is a more extensive event. It’s not to be missed by anybody who loves the process of glass art and the incredible final products.
The free, family-friendly International Year of Glass celebration will include:
- Live glass-blowing demonstrations
- Live flame-working demonstrations
- Lectures about the use of glass in society and art
- Guided tours of the cold-working areas, sand-blasting areas and glass blowing areas
There will also be refreshments at the event.
