Indie on Wheels is a movie series in which Independent Picture House screens movies in the community. These are free events and can also include a post-movie discussion.
The next Indie on Wheels takes place on Wednesday, March 29, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Independence Regional Library, 6000 Conference Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Please register here if you’d like to attend.
Individuals will watch STATE OF THE ART (2019), a documentary journey of artistic discovery… 100,000 miles, 1,000 destinations in search of 100 under-recognized American artists for one unforgettable exhibition. This film captures the stories of seven of the artists from the groundbreaking exhibit.
Attendees will enjoy a post-screening discussion focused on how art is an outlet for creativity and self care, whether or not the work is displayed in a museum.
This program is sponsored by Culture Blocks— a community partnership between ASC, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to bring arts and cultural experiences closer to where residents live. Culture Blocks is funded by Mecklenburg County.
