1500 Central Avenue.
It’s free to attend.
Here’s information from the Facebook event:
What started out as prep for teaching an illustration studio at Queens University, turned into an “Instagram residency” for local artist Mike Wirth. “InstaCLTLove” is the result of dozens of time lapse videos taken of watercolor portraits featuring prominent and influential Charlotteans – from activists to musicians to neighborhood friends.
InstaCLTLove is a portrayal of Charlotte behind the banks and beneath the public persona, it’s an expression of diversity and a celebration of the personalities that keep the Queen City alive.
Check out the timelapse videos on Instagram: @mikewirthart and under #paintmyinstafriends (https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/paintmyinstafriends/)
Join us for the artist reception Friday 8/18 from 6pm – until, featuring an exhibit of watercolor portraits, a project reel of the timelapse videos, sounds curated by Scott Weaver, and a live painting of one watercolor portrait by Mike Wirth Art himself.
