Jazz Blues Funk Night

Max Levy & The Hawiian Shirts are a sax/keyboard/drums trio, and play a mixture of jazz, blues and funk, along with some rock n’ roll. Most of their tunes are instrumental, but they also feature Dwain Gunnels on vocals. Their influences range from Art Blakey to Dexter Gordon to Bob Marley. The group has played throughout the Wilmington, NC area in restaurants, bars, markets and private parties.
They have also been featured at the Jazz at the CAM and Jazz at the Bellamy Mansion concert series hosted by the Cape Fear Jazz Society. They enjoy playing music and sharing their version of America’s only original art form – jazz.
