
Huntersville Parks & Recreation and Dear Soul Music Co. are hosting a Jazz Appreciation Concert at Veterans Park, at 201 Huntersville-Concord Road, Huntersville. (Main and Maxwell.) The concert takes place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m.
This is a free concert sponsored by ASC Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County.
All ages welcome! Enjoy this concert with beer, wine, and charcuterie boxes available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a great time!

Harvey Cummings II:
Masterful Musician Harvey Cummings II, a native of Charlotte, is an award-winning saxophonist, pianist, songwriter, and producer. His remarkable compositions have been featured on Cartoon Network’s “The Boondocks,” and he has lent his musical prowess to renowned brands such as Dreamville, The NFL, Courvoisier, Dusse, and more. Cummings’s dedication to his craft is evident through his collaborations with notable artists such as Dababy, Gibson, TLC, Angie Stone, Anthony Hamilton, Cyanca, Fantasia, Lute, and many more. The Charlotte Post has aptly described him as “a cornerstone of Charlotte’s music scene,” acknowledging his unwavering contributions to the local and national music landscape.
Keenan Harmon & The Nexus J
Formed in 2019 by Keenan Harmon for his original music that explores jazz’s far reach in sound and genre. The group’s home base is Charlotte, NC performing throughout the region in diverse locations from breweries and clubs to (2023) Jazz Appreciation at Veteran’s Park Festival to full length concerts at Blumenthal Arts Stagedoor Theater. The band will return to the Stagedoor Theater early next year in 2026 for an album release concert. Drawing from the group members’ collectively diverse music backgrounds including R&B, Rock, Bluegrass & Symphonic music, the group comes together as the Nexus Jazz Group.
ARSENA (Event Host & Performer):
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, and raised in Charlotte, NC, ARSENA’s musical roots run deep. Her father, lead vocalist behind “Dance to the Drummers Beat (1978)”—sampled by icons like Michael Jackson and N.W.A.—not only shaped R&B legends like Monica but also influenced ARSENA’s artistic evolution. As an independent artist, ARSENA has toured internationally, earned an endorsement from Breedlove Guitars, and received a standing ovation from Michael Jordan. Her latest release, 5ive Sun (2025), co-produced with CTM Outlander Publishing, showcases her growth and versatility as an artist. This follows her third album, Metamorphosis: The Evolution of Arsena (2023), which highlights her signature introspection, and her holiday single, Santa Can You, featured on WCCB TV.
