Do your kids like to craft or build? There are several FREE opportunities for kids to tackle small, age-appropriate projects, including seasonal crafts, wood-working projects and more.
Kids will learn to use tools safely, learn to use crafting materials, create something, and have fun.

Lowe’s DIY-U Kids’ Workshop
Lowe’s hosts DIY-U Kids’ Workshops one Saturday a month, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required. Kids ages 4-11 will make a small woodworking project.
Each month kids can create a badge. After completing 6 workshops, kids can receive a Jr. Builder apron badge and certificate of Builder Recognition. After completing 12 workshops, kids can even receive a Kids’ Tool Bag.
Home Depot Kids Workshops
Home Depot Kids Workshops take place the first Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. They’re geared toward kids ages 5-12. Registration is required.
Each child can bring home their completed project, a Kids Workshop apron, an achievement pin and a certificate. Every Kids Workshop kit comes with a related STEAM activity so that kids can continue learning and playing.
JCPenney Kids Zone
JCPenney hosts JCPenney Kids Zone the second Saturday of the month, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. At each of these free events, kids can try a fun craft. They’ll also receive an ID badge and lanyard, a collector’s pin each month, and, after completing six crafts, a craft medallion.
Parents receive a 10% off coupon for shopping that day at JCPenney!
