Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. This year Kids to Parks Day takes place on May 20, 2023.
This day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events nationwide that promote play and learning in the great outdoors.
The event is organized by the National Park Trust, a nonprofit organization that preserves and protects public lands.

Kids to Parks Day was created to encourage kids and their families to visit one of America’s national, state, or local parks and to inspire the whole family to prioritize caring for our environment and spending time outdoors.
You can look for local events on the Kids to Parks Day website, but we’ve found the website very slow to load events. We have found one event locally that doesn’t seem to be listed. We’ve listed that event below, and if we come across more, we’ll add them.
And, of course, it’s just a great day to go to a park, even without a special event.
