Some problems in our community are complicated, and it can be hard to know how to give in a way that has an impact. But sometimes it’s simpler than you’d think.
Lasagna Love is a national non-profit that matches families who could use a little help with home cooks who can spread a little love…with lasagna.
For many families, a free home-cooked meal could be the difference between a very good day and a difficult one. Requesting a lasagna is easy. You just have to fill out a form with your name, address, phone number, the size of your family, any dietary restrictions, and a little bit about your family. Plus you need to sign a waiver.
Lasagna Love started at the beginning of the pandemic with a woman who just wanted a way to help her community.
If it sounds simple, well, it is.
If you need a meal for whatever reason — whether you’ve hit a rough patch financially, or you’re overwhelmed, or you have a medical situation — you request a lasagna.
If you like to cook, or you like to help people, you can register to provide lasagnas. And the national Lasagna Love platform will match you with someone who could use a lasagna, whether it’s once a week or once a month. That’s up to you.
You will also indicate whether you can accommodate dietary restrictions, like people who eat vegetarian or gluten-free.
Once the Lasagna Love platform matches you with a family, you’ll text with the person and arrange a time for drop-off. Drop-offs are contact-free.
There’s a national Lasagna Love Facebook group that you can join once you sign up to be a “Lasagna Mama” or “Lasagna Papa.”
There’s an active Lasagna Love community in Charlotte.

What a fabulous idea to reach out to people in communities, who maybe still mentally and in some cases, physically recovering from the the past year and the Pandemic. By helping to put a WARM smile on their face, and a WARM meal in their bellies , shows that we are still a Nation of Good People who Care.
