LATIBAH Collard Green Museum, which has a mission of preserving and sharing African American history and culture, is presenting The Great Escape on Saturday, October 15th, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Mosaic Village, 1635 West Trade Street. It’s free to attend.
The bloodhound Slave Catchers became the Law hunting the Enslaved and harshly punished anyone daring to help. Despite this, a determined and diverse secret community risked their lives for the Greatest Escape ever on the Underground Railroad.
Hear and See the secrets of the Underground Railroad as LATIBAH brings History and Art to Life! “The Great Escape” is LATIBAH’s signature exhibit comprised of 8 true to life murals depicting the most complex and intimate portrayal of the Underground Railroad.
Learn, Experience, and Share in the African traditions by way of the talking drum via storytelling, dance, and art.
LATIBAH welcomes all of the community to the Historic West End District to celebrate African American history. “The Great Escape” is being showcased @ the Mosiac Lawn located at 1635 W. Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28208.
This event is free and open to public and will take place outdoors.
