Many North Carolina residents are working from home, or learning remotely, and, in response, several internet service providers are offering free or reduced-rate internet service for a limited time.
The Broadband Infrastructure Office of the NC Department of Information Technology has compiled this information into an interactive map.
The map displays internet service providers in North Carolina that are offering special services right now.
Use the map to determine if your area is covered by the providers:
- Enter your home street address in the address field and click the magnifying glass. (You can also use the location icon to the right of the magnifying glass to allow the browser to determine your location for you.)
- Click on your location to see offers available to your address.
In addition, there is a list of public access Wi-Fi locations. It doesn’t look anywhere near complete, but it gives a couple ideas.
Remember that if you’re using a public Wi-Fi access location, you need to stay at least six feet from other people.
Following is a list of internet service providers that are offering free or affordable options for high-speed internet during this time. You’ll need to use the above map to see which ones are available to you.
