What is a marmot?
A marmot is a herbivorous, burrowing rodent of the squirrel family. They are often confused with groundhogs, and although they’re both members of the Marmota genus, they are different species. Groundhogs are solitary, territorial creatures, whereas marmots live in colonies and are highly social.
