My sewing skills end at creating tunics for Halloween costumes, but I know that Mary Jo’s, at 401 Cox Road in Gastonia, with over 32,000 square feet of fabric and notions, is something of a destination spot for my friends who love to sew. Saturday, July 12th, 2014, starting at 9 a.m. they are holding their Girls’ Day Out, which is their biggest sale of the year. Besides the deep discounts, they will also have giveaways every 30 minutes, including sewing machines, fabric, irons, gift cards, shopping sprees and much more. The first 100 customers will receive a free gift. There will also be demonstrations all over the store throughout the day.
