UNC and Dean Smith fans, here’s an opportunity to check out the new commemorative book about him and meet some of the contributing writers:
Mark your calendars: The Charlotte Observer has just gotten in its first run of its commemorative book, “Dean Smith: More Than a Coach.” It’s filled with classic articles and photos of Dean, as well as a poignant foreword by Phil Ford. On Tuesday (March 17), you’ll be able to buy the book at the Observer and meet a few of the contributing writers: Scott Fowler, Ron Green and Ron Green Jr.
Just swing by the Observer’s lobby, 600 S. Tryon St., between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Book is $14.95 plus tax. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Dean E. Smith Opening Doors Fund. If you can’t make it Tuesday, you can always order at www.triumphbooks.com/DeanSmith.
