U.S. National Whitewater Center's Memorial Day Celebration features live music and the Watermelon Wrangle

The U.S. National Whitewater Center’s annual Memorial Day celebration takes place Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, 2024.

It includes a trail race, yoga and live music. A new feature is the Watermelon Wrangle. Teams of 4 to 6 people race down the Competition Channel, trying to collect greasy watermelons. Win by collecting the most watermelons within the time limit.

It’s free to attend the celebration, but there’s a charge for participating in races or tournaments and there’s a $12 parking charge. Yoga is free.

Memorial Day Celebration Schedule at Whitewater Center

Saturday:

8 a.m.: Memorial Day Trail Race
8 a.m.: Used Boat and Bike Sale
9:30 a.m.: Slow Flow Yoga
11:30 a.m.: Open Level Flow Yoga
6:30 p.m.: Fun Flow Yoga
6:30 p.m.: River Jam: The Coffis Brothers

Sunday:

9:30 a.m.: SUP Yoga
11 a.m: SUP Yoga
11:30 a.m.: Open Flow Yoga
2:30 p.m.: Slow Flow Yoga
3 p.m.: Watermelon Wrangle
5 p.m.: Live music: J & The Causeways
7 p.m.: Live music: GA-20
8:30 p.m.: Night Ops (Illuminated pass activities)
