12 regional museums have joined together for the Miles for Museums Summer Passport Program. This program is intended to encourage you to visit smaller museums that you might overlook.
Most of the museums are to the east of Charlotte, in Matthews and Mint Hill, and in Cabarrus, Rowan, and Stanly Counties, North Carolina. The one exception is in Huntersville.
Just pick up a passport at any of the participating museums, then get it stamped when you visit the museums, and you’ll be eligible for prizes.
In addition, some local businesses in each town are offering discounts for passport holders.
All of the museums are free to visit. Make sure to visit their websites or give them a call, because some of them have limited hours.
This program will run through summer of 2024.
