Myers Park Summer Series — free chamber music concerts at Myers Park Presbyterian Church

Myers Park Summer Series is a free chamber music series at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, in May and June, 2022.

The six concerts take place at 7 p.m.:

Charlotte Piano Trio 3rd Anniversary Concert
Monday, May 16th, 2022
The Charlotte Piano Trio will revisit the first piece it ever performed three years ago: Brahms’ First Piano Trio, alongside Kodaly’s fiery Duo for Violin and Cello and Schoenfield’s jazz-inspired Café Music.

Cristian Makhuli Solo Piano Recital
Friday, June 3rd, 2022
Join local 17-year-old Steinway Artist Cristian Makhuli for his competition-tier program of solo piano works by Ravel, Schumann, Beethoven, and Liszt.

The Section Cello Ensemble featuring Nia J
Monday, June 6th, 2022
Experience a lush cello ensemble sound in works by Antonín Dvořák, Marcus Norris, and others, with a special appearance by R&B singer-songwriter Nia J.

Phantasmagoria
Friday, June 10th, 2022
A program of fantastical pieces for cello and piano, including Adolphus Hailstork’s solo sonata and John Corigliano’s Phantasmagoria.

Winds from the Charlotte Symphony
Thursday, June 16th, 2022
Join flute, oboe, bassoon, and horn players from the Symphony for eclectic chamber works by Madeleine Dring, Valerie Coleman, and more.

Glass, Colors, and Blues — Modern String Quartets
Monday, June 27th, 2022
Four conservatory musicians from four different NC towns are uniting in Charlotte to deliver contemporary string quartets by Philip Glass, Tan Dun, and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson.

Admission is free, and donations benefit the mutual aid group Feed the Movement CLT.
