National Taco Day is a cause for celebration. It’s a day to honor the taco, one of the most versatile and tasty foods. However, you might notice that it’s not always celebrated on the same day.
Why are there two National Taco Days?
National Taco Day falls on Tuesday, October 1, or Friday, October 4th, 2024, depending on who you talk to. National Taco Day has traditionally been on October 4 every year. Taco Bell lobbied the National Day Calendar (there is such a thing?) to change it to the first Tuesday of October, which is October 1.
But that doesn’t mean that other restaurants can’t celebrate on October 4, or both days, and many do.
This is way too much controversy for us, so we’ll be adding taco deals for either day, as they’re announced.

National Taco Day Deals for 2024

Taco Bell
Taco Bell is offering $1 tacos every hour for 10 hours, with a limit of 100,000 tacos. On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Rewards Members can redeem an iconic Taco Bell taco for $1, dropping every hour from 1 to 10 p.m.
Taco lovers can enjoy up to 10 tacos throughout the day for a total of $10 if they get in on each drop. From classics to newer favorites, crunchy to soft, cheesy to spicy, here’s the taco lineup. Each has a limit, so if you’re serious about getting 10 tacos for $10, make sure to redeem them at the beginning of each hour.
Please note that in Taco Bell’s press release, the hours are listed as 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., but those are PT, so we’ve converted them to ET.
- 1 p.m.: Crunchy Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
- 2 p.m.: Double Stacked Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
- 3 p.m.: Chalupa Supreme (10,000 available for redemption)
- 4 p.m.: Nacho Cheese Doritos® Locos Tacos (10,000 available for redemption)
- 5 p.m.: Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
- 6 p.m. Cantina Chicken Soft Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
- 7 p.m.: Soft Taco Supreme (10,000 available for redemption)
- 8 p.m.: Cheesy Gordita Crunch (10,000 available for redemption)
- 9 p.m.: Crunchy Taco Supreme (10,000 available for redemption)
- 10 p.m.: Soft Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
Talkin’ Tacos
Talkin’ Tacos is opening their first North Carolina location at 8915 Christenbury Parkway, Concord, North Carolina. Talkin’ Tacos’ grand opening is on the old National Taco Day, October 4, 2024. The celebration starts at 6 p.m. The first 100 guests in line receive a free order of Birria Tacos. There will also be live entertainment, including photo opportunities with an LED Robot.
Condado Tacos
Condado Tacos is celebrating National Taco Day from October 1 to 10, 2024.
Guests can OPT in to receive the offer for their free taco. Guests text “YES” to 380-208-6295. After opting in, reply “NTD” and receive an offer for a free taco with an equal or greater purchase. Just show your server the confirmation text to receive the free taco.
You’ll find Condado Tacos at 10706 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC, and 1536 Camden Road, Charlotte, NC.
Chuy’s
Chuy’s is offering several National Taco Day deals. Visit Chuy’s dressed like a taco on October 1 or 4, 2024, post a photo on social media using #ChuysTacoDay and you’ll receive a free, dine-in entree of your choice.
Also, Chuy’s will be serving up their world-famous tacos and drink specials both day. Add a Ground Beef Taco (Crispy or Soft!) to any entrée for just $1.
They are also offering $1 Tequila Floaters to top your favorite margarita with an extra pour of tequila. After all… tequila and tacos are the perfect pair.
On the Border
On the Border
On the Border is celebrating National Taco Day by extending its Endless Tacos deal through Sunday, October 13, 2024. For just For only $10, guests can choose from pulled chicken tinga and seasoned ground beef tacos when they dine in at participating On The Border restaurants. On top of that, for an extra $3, guests can upgrade to enjoy endless brisket or Southwest chicken tacos.
