If you’re having trouble purchasing $1 tickets, and you’re trying for the right days, and using the right promo code, I’d suggest you contact Amtrak and ask about it. I just tried and it worked fine for me, but they should be able to provide customer support. (While seats are available.)

I found it was a lot easier on the app than on the website. Website kept crashing for me.
