The North Carolina Zoo, at 4401 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, is offering a special discount for Randolph County residents, in celebration of the zoo’s 50th anniversary.
This discount is meant to show appreciation for residents of Randolph County, who advocated tirelessly in the 1970s for the state zoo to be built in the heart of North Carolina.
From August 5 to 30, 2024, residents who show a valid ID with a Randolph County, NC zip code will be admitted for $5. The special rate may be extended to up to four people per party, the resident and three other people, who do not have to live in Randolph County.
So, if you have friends or relatives in Randolph County now is the time to invite them on a visit to the zoo with you! As of the 2020 census, the population of Randolph County was 144,171. Maybe you know one of them?
