On the Table CLT is a community-wide civic engagement initiative that will bring thousands of Mecklenburg County residents together in small groups on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019, to share meals and discuss ways to make our community more connected, dynamic, and opportunity-rich.
2019 is the third year for On the Table CLT.
Many organizations are hosting On the Table events on October 23rd. You can see a map of On the Table CLT events here.
These are free events.
If you’re interested in attending one, make sure to follow the link on the map to RSVP and to gather more information.
Some of the events include meals, some includes snacks, and some are brown-bag events.

Hosted by The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Participate in a facilitated discussion around City and County economic mobility efforts. Share your finding home story. Learn about the 2019 Charlotte-Mecklenburg State of Housing Instability and Homelessness Report. Learn about our current vision for an equitable, livable, sustainable and inclusive region. Featured speakers including: Taiwo Jaiyeoba, Assistant City Manager/Director of Planning, City of Charlotte and Stacy M. Lowry, Community Support Services Department Director, Mecklenburg County. On October 23 from 9am – 11am YWCA will be hosting an On The Table event. This year’s theme, Finding Home: Where Do I Belong? will focus on the times we’ve each felt connection and disconnection in Charlotte. Conversation will focus on how we each define home and what a sense of belonging looks like, both in a communal and individual sense. Community members will come together to discuss the pressing issues that Charlotte faces and how we can address them. Light refreshments will be provided, please register to attend.

Please join us for the third annual On the Table Charlotte, a community-wide initiative that brings people together through conversation. The program theme for 2019 is Finding Home: Where Do I Belong? Are you a native to the area? Did you move here from somewhere else? How does your story shape the future of the place we call home and where we belong? Please join us to share your story and hear others tell theirs. Light refreshments provided. This conversation will take place in the Teen Zone and is open to all ages. Registration is not required but requested to know how much seating to make available.

Now in its 3rd year, Keyona & Tony are taking it upon themselves to make sure the young professional voice is heard in this conversation too! Join us as we explore this year’s On The Table Charlotte theme of Finding Home: Where Do I Belong? In addition to participating in facilitator led conversations about what home means to all of us, we will share a few spoken word stories that share stories about home in Charlotte, and there will be food!
