ONE Charlotte is an organization that is trying to bring Charlotte together:
Acknowledging the struggles, inequities, and challenges within our community, ONE Charlotte is working to begin the healing process in Charlotte by uniting the city around common causes. Working through public and private entities, we will drive conversations that result in measurable outcomes on how we can bring equity, opportunity and access to all the citizens of our community. In addition, ONE Charlotte will lead investment and build hope in the areas of most need.
This endeavor is a springboard for ongoing and sustainable solutions to create a thriving community. Learn more here.
The issues within our city are systemic and generational. It will take at least a generation to correct. This is a first step in acknowledging the inequities and challenges that exist, and begin a new narrative that will include the prosperity of all Charlotte citizens.
The organization’s inaugural public event is ONE Charlotte Day, which will be held at Romare Bearden Park on Sunday, November 6th, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will feature fellowship, music and food. It’s a free event.
