OneBand brings musicians of all skill levels together for one fun performance on Feb 13

If you’ve ever wanted to break out the old guitar (or drums or tuba or marimba) and play in a band without a long-term commitment, check out OneBand.

OneBand is a community music series created by Charlotte is Creative. Here’s how it works: OneBand posts a list of a few songs. Anyone who wants to play those songs can sign up. Any level of experience. Amateur or professional. Any instrument. (Yes, any instrument.) You just have to commit to learning the songs, and attending one rehearsal and one performance.

OneBand will provide the chord sheets for the songs. You’ll need to bring your own instrument and any gear that you need.

You learn the songs. You rehearse one time. You perform. Then the band breaks up. Until the next time, when it starts all over again!

Next OneBand

This will be the 10th OneBand session.

The rehearsal is February 11, 2024, 6 to 9 p.m., at Jambox, 707 E Hebron Street, Charlotte, North Carolina. (Set-up at 5 p.m.)

The performance is at Divine Barrel Brewing, 3701 N Davidson Street, on February 13, 2024, 7 p.m. (Set-up starts at 4 p.m. Sound check at 5:30 p.m.)

The songs are:

“Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher” (Jackie Wilson)
“Just Like Heaven” (The Cure)
“All About That Bass” (Meghan Trainor)
“Go Your Own Way” (Fleetwood Mac)
