Preston Drum has been the artist in residence at C3 Lab, 2525 Distribution Street, and you can see what he’s been up to at the Open Studio event on Friday, January 8th, 2016, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It’s free to attend.
His “deconstructed” film, “A Saturday in the Summer,” will be screened at 8 p.m. It’s a 15 minute piece with audio recorded in a closet in Minnesota and about 100 ink drawings on a wall. There will likely be some corn bread, lemonade and sweet tea to set the mood.
The event is a family affair, with Preston’s brother, Grayson Drum, and friends performing bluegrass and American traditional music at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Preston’s father, Yates Drum will have his new book, for which Preston did the illustrations, for sale.
