UNC Charlotte Center City is at 320 East 9th Street. The exhibit will run through September 24th. More info: Abstraction has been one of the highest selling genres in the art market, yet often one of the most misunderstood. CHROMA: lyrical lines and compulsive color will explore color-soaked abstraction in oil paintings by Linda Luise Brown, acrylics and collage works by Marge Loudon Moody, and the intricate surface design on ceramic objects and installations by Greg Scott. Each of these artists receives incitement from outside life – impressions from travel or the haunts of universal symbols – transforming these afterimages into brilliant gestures of vibrant color and subtle markings.
