The Oxford American is a quarterly literary magazine dedicated to featuring the complexity and vitality of the American South.
Each year they put together an issue dedicated to southern music, and this year the focus is North Carolina music.
They’re presenting several Statewide Singing Circle events throughout the state, where North Carolina songwriters will perform, as well as literary readings highlighting stories from the issue.
Here in Charlotte, the Statewide Singing Circle takes place at Booth Playhouse on Thursday, November 29th, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. You can find tickets at CarolinaTix.org.

Oxford American magazine, Yep Roc Records, and Free Range Brewing are proud to present the Oxford American’s 2018 North Carolina Music Issue Celebration.
This event is free to the public and will feature a diverse group of writers reading stories from the issue, along with musical punctuations by co-curator, Raleigh-based songwriter Tift Merritt.
