
Poor No More is an organization that operates a free store, to help empower poor and working poor individuals and families in Charlotte. The free store is held periodically. No registration or application is necessary. People who are in need can just visit and pick up clothing or household items.

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12 to 4 p.m., Poor No More is holding a special Free Store at Johnson C. Smith University, 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC, 28216. There’s no application. Just show up.
This Free Store will feature brand new clothing from Belk, plus home supplies!
The Free Store takes place at University Plaza, next to Crisp Student Union. If you’re unfamiliar with the campus, this map should help. Crisp Student Union is #23 on this map, right in the middle of campus. Click on map to enlarge it.

The Gold Line Streetcar has a stop at Johnson C. Smith University. It is fare-free at this time.
