Get out on the ice at Bojangles Coliseum public skate. Bojangles Coliseum is at 2700 East Independence Boulevard and the event is Thursday, February 9th, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the cost is $5 with your own skates or $8 with skate rentals (limited number of skates available.)

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) and Charlotte Checkers will host a public skate presented by News 1110, 99.3 WBT at Bojangles’ Coliseum on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 4-8 p.m. Public skates resurfaced last season with the Checkers’ return to Bojangles’ Coliseum. A longtime tradition at this historic venue, public skates are just one of many ways the CRVA and Checkers are connecting with the local community.
The Checkers’ mascot, Chubby, the CheckMates and the Checkers’ beloved organ player, Greazy Keys, will be in attendance. Admission is $5 with your own skates and $8 with skate rentals (a limited number of skates are available). Parking for all attendees is free. All proceeds from the event go to the Checkers Charitable Foundation. Concessions and Checkers’ merchandise will be available for purchase.
