On Tuesday, at 4 p.m., MoRA (the Monroe Road Neighborhood Association) is unveiling the large, community art project at The Point, 6621 Monroe Road.
The 16-foot sculpture, made of aluminum, polished stainless steel and mosaic tiles, envisioned by the late artist Leslie Scott, funded by individuals and the community, and created by adults and children in the community, will receive its official name at the event.
The sculpture will be a recognizable landmark on the Point, which will be a community gathering spot.
At the unveiling event:
4:00 p.m.: Beer, wine, coffee
4:30 p.m.: Remarks and unveiling
5:00 p.m.: Light bites, music and gathering
