On Thursday nights from January 18 to March 28, 2024, Aurora Star Lit Cinema and Camp North End are presenting free Retro Game Nights, including Mario Kart Tournaments.
The events will take place from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the historic Ford Building at Camp North End, 1774 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina. This is the same building where the indoor film series are taking place. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and check-in is from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
It’s free to compete in the tournament, free to play games and free to watch. All ages are welcome.
The activities include:
- Mario Kart 64 Tournament on the BIG screen
- Over 40 arcade games from the 80s and 90s
- Classic Board Games
- A Nintendo-inspired ‘living room’ area featuring open play on Original NES, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, Wii, and a switch
- Browse the Blockbuster-inspired VHS wall – Pick and play any VHS tape
Black Moth Bars will be selling craft cocktails and other adult beverages, as well as concessions and snacks.
Prizes in the Mario Kart tournament include:
- $25 Camp North End gift card
- $25 Black Moth Bars bar tab
- Aurora Star Lit Cinema t-shirt
