The Jade Buddha for Universal Peace is an 8-foot tall, 4-ton statue that was carved from an 18-ton boulder of translucent jade found in Canada in 2000. Since 2009 it has been on tour around the world, visiting 90 cities in 20 countries. Over 8 million people have made the pilgrimage to see it. It is in Charlotte now, at Minh Dang Quang, a Buddhist monastery and temple at 4310 W. Sugar Creek Road. It’ll be there through Sunday, May 17th, 2015.
