Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with the 9th Annual Seuss-a-Thon at Park Road Books, 4139 Park Road, on Saturday, February 29th, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event is led by Dr. Mark West of UNC Charlotte.
Area educators and literacy advocates will read Dr. Seuss books aloud to children. Children will also have opportunities to do Dr. Seuss-related craft projects.
The Seuss-a-Thon takes place on or near the birth date of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, and wrote and illustrated over 40 books for children.
He received many honors, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 “for his special contribution over nearly half a century to the education and enjoyment of America’s children and their parents.”
Park Road Books will supply the books to be read, and there will be a discount available on Dr. Seuss books.
Park Road Books, located in Park Road Shopping Center, is Charlotte’s oldest continuously operating bookstore.
