Explore history: Levine Museum of the New South is free to visit every Sunday, as long as your group is smaller than 10 people. Park in 7th Street Station and bring your ticket to the Levine Museum to be validated. On weekends you can get it validated for all day.
Try a new sport: The Nano Sports Center is hosting Pickleball open play. Pickleball is like tennis but on a smaller scale. No pickles are harmed during the games.
See Shakespeare in a new way: Charlotte Shakespeare is staging Love’s Labor’s Lost as a Beatles-inspired 60s era musical romp. The performance is Uptown, outside on The Green. There’s even a free workshop before the show. Follow the link for showtimes and more details.
Enjoy a picnic and music: Davidson’s Concerts on the Greens have gotten rolling for the summer. Bring your own picnic or buy dinner in Davidson and relax to the sounds of Gal Friday, a country band. Bring a chair or blanket.
Get up close to the music: Charlotte folk/roots duo Sinners & Saints is the focus of the first installment of the new QC Independent Acoustic Sessions at Salud Beer Shop in NoDa. The event will include an acoustic set by the band, as well as a live interview and audience Q&A. QC Independent’s goal is to present music in an intimate setting.
Free ice cream and music: At Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church’s outdoor pops concert, Pritchard’s orchestra will play Christian and popular selections, and I Scream 4 Ice Cream will give all attendees a double scoop cone or cup.
