Camp North End, 1776 Statesville Avenue, is hosting a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party on Monday, August 21st, 2017, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. It’s hosted by Renewable Energy Transition Initiative and is free to attend.
If you sign up for RETI’s newsletter there you’ll get a free pair of NASA approved eclipse viewing glasses.
RETI staff will be answering questions and setting up eclipse-themed activities.
All ages – folks, friends + supporters. Bring a friend, learn more about the partial solar eclipse, come hear what RETI is all about — with free snacks and a great view.
Camp North End is a “new old” place. Ford Motor Company built it in 1924 as manufactured Model T and Model A automobiles there. After that it was used by the U.S. Army as a missile assembly and storage space. It’s got an interesting history.
I had a chance to visit and take some pictures. Read more about it here and look at some pictures.
Now it’s being developed by ATCO for offices, event space, retail, artist studios and public gathering space, all the while preserving the historical space.
