Spartanburg Community College has announced that it is going tuition-free for 2021-2022.
What does this mean? It really does mean free. All college-eligible students who enroll at SCC with a minimum of six credit hours (typically two classes) are eligible for SCC’s free tuition. You do not have to be a South Carolina resident to get free tuition.
Spartanburg is about an hour and a half to the southwest of Charlotte. And classes are offered online as well.
The free tuition is for fall of 2021, spring of 2022, and summer of 2022.
It’s available for current SCC students and new students alike, including:
- Adults with some college
- Adults with no college
- Recent high school graduates
- Dual enrolled high school students
- Career changers
- Anyone who needs a do-over and wants to start college again!
The assistance might come from grants (including Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant, S.C. Needs-Based Grant) and scholarships, SC Lottery Tuition Assistance Program and more.
If you’re a current SCC student or have applied within the last year you don’t need to submit a new application. Just register for classes and complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA.
