Charlotte Storytellers is presenting Trashy: A Story Slam on Friday, February 19th, 2016, at 7 p.m., at Atherton Mill and Market, 2104 South Boulevard. It’s FREE to attend if you bring your compostable materials. Crown Town Compost will be on hand to take away your waste and turn it into something beautiful. Bring leftovers from fruits and vegetables, bread, pasta, egg shells…for the whole list look here. If you don’t want to bring waste, then bring $5. That’ll get you in too.
At the story slam, you’ll hear stories with the theme of “trash”: tales of being it, eating it, feeling like it, or talking it.
Want to tell your trashy story?
– Make sure your story is around 5 minutes in length from start to finish. At 6 minutes you will receive a time warning, and at 7, you will have to relinquish the microphone. So don’t leave us all in suspense, okay?
– Upon arrival, sign up at the door to be placed in the running to tell your tale. We have approximately 10-12 performers at each Slam and randomly select the performers through a lottery system. Wanna make sure you get your moment in the sun? The first person to sign up is guaranteed a performance slot in the hot seat.
