The weekends are getting more fun in Uptown Charlotte.
A block of Tryon Street, between 5th and 6th Streets, will be closed to traffic and open for dining and entertainment during weekends for Street Eats.
StreetEats Tryon Street invites people to Uptown Charlotte and enjoy all that it has to offer.
Note: There are also Street Eats going on (and being planned) in other parts of Charlotte, all as a way to support our restaurants, as we dine more safely, outside:
The first weekend for StreetEats Tryon Street is Friday, October 9th, to Sunday, October 11th, and the plan is to continue through the rest of 2020.
Tables will be set up in the street, and you can enjoy takeout from Uptown restaurants, as well as meals from food trucks.
In addition, enjoy live music:
- Friday: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be additional performers, like the Bubble Man.
Parking has gotten easier as well, with free and very much reduced parking rates at these garages.
This is the information we have so far on parking, and we will update if we hear about any changes.
These addresses will get you close, but you might have to drive around the block to find the entrances.
- Seventh Street Station, 225 E 6th Street: free
- Fifth Third Center, 109 W 6th Street: $1
- Truist Parking (formerly Hearst Building), 161 E 6th Street: $1
You’ll need to enter the deck after 5 p.m. on Friday and vacate by 9 p.m Sunday for this special rate.
