Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is celebrating the beginning of summer and the re-opening of their Nature Center at a free event, Summer Kick-Off & National Trails Day. It takes place on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Enjoy a day full of hikes, animal encounters and raffles for the whole family! There will be a DJ on site and prizes raffled away every 30 minutes! Activities will center around the renovated Nature Center and will feature food trucks and a picnic area and will last until 2p. Don’t forget to check out our new “Agents of Discovery” mobile app. Free Admission for the whole family!
Pick the perfect activity for your family from our list of guided hikes!
10-11a: Participate in the Family Friendly Cabin Hike and learn about the history of the Greenway Grounds and the different cabins on the land.
10:30-11a: Take Miller the Box Turtle for a walk! Enjoy a quick fitness hike with our resident Box Turtle and watch him roam!
11-11:30a: Take a picturesque hike through the woods and enjoy a narrated Storybook Hike!
11:30a-12p: Meet our brand new Bee Hive! Bees are in danger around the world and we adopted 30,000 bees to help save their population! Come check out our indoor hive and take a look INSIDE the hive! (Don’t worry – you won’t catch a stinger.)
12-12:30p – Tromp through the woods using all five of your sense. Learn how to take in the beauty of nature around you using more than just your eyes!
12:30-1p: Come meet our resident Corn Snake, Cornelius, and enjoy story time!
1-2p: Not sure what tree or bird species that is? Take a hike with a certified Natrualist who can teach you everything there is to know about the outdoors!
1-2p: Come meet all the animals in the Nature Center at our Animal Meet and Greet!
