Jasiatic is presenting a FREE class, Taste the Diaspora. This program is part of Culture Blocks, which is possible through the generous financial support of Mecklenburg County.
Discuss and learn about the connections of food, culture, art, and healing. You will explore local foodways and their often-overlooked diasporic roots. Classes will be curated around specific foods or historical food preparation.
Each class will include a cooking lesson, tasting, recipes, and discussion around our own ways of eating and experiencing such food, customs and rituals, and variations in other cultures throughout the world.
There are two versions of the class — one for youth ages 12-17 and one for adults.
