North Carolina no longer has a “tax-free” weekend, but South Carolina does. South Carolina’s “tax holiday” starts Friday, August 7th, 2015, and ends Sunday, August 9th. So there’s three whole days. This is the official document that tells all the details. What’s included and what’s not is way too complicated to get into here, so consult the document. Shoulder pads for dresses are exempt, while shoulder pads for football uniforms are not exempt. Wigs are not exempt, but lingerie, bow ties and “bonnets” are. Anyway.
North Carolina residents, although there’s no sales tax holiday, several shopping establishments are holding “better than tax free” sales.
Concord Mills and Charlotte Premium Outlets are offering an additional 15% off already discounted items from many merchandisers. These deals will be available Friday, August 7th, 2015, through Sunday, August 9th. Visit Guest Services to get a complete list of participating stores.
