The Parking Spot, at 6210 Wilkinson Blvd, is the newest place to park at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Have you tried it yet? It opened in April of this year.

Back in April the company celebrated by offering a promotion of $1 a day for the first 1,000 reservations. I grabbed a few days of parking, and had a great experience. (This post is sponsored by The Parking Spot, but these opinions are truly my own, and you can ask anybody I’ve talked to about it!)

Once you sign up you can also grab The Parking Spot app, and, with that, you can track the shuttle, which runs every 5-7 minutes.

Also, with the app you can:

  • Electronically record where in the lot you parked your vehicle
  • Make a reservation
  • Redeem your Spot Club points
  • View your point total
  • See your upcoming reservations
  • Review your recent transactions
  • Access facility information, including maps and directions

About that shuttle: The moment we drove into the lot the shuttle followed us to our spot. And the driver got out and put our luggage right into the shuttle. There was no long walk to the shuttle stop, and no long wait for the shuttle. 

I find airport travel stressful, but The Parking Spot (along with TSA pre-check–get it if you can!) is one thing that takes some of the stress away. 

When we returned from our trip the shuttle drove us straight to our car in the lot.

Covered parking is around $7.95 a day and uncovered is around $5.95 a day. (Although I’m currently seeing uncovered parking for $5/day.)

Since you reserve your spot in advance you don’t have to worry about space running out, like you do with the regular airport parking. And regular long-term parking is $7 a day (with daily parking at $10 a day.) So using The Parking Spot is not costing more money.
