Veterans Benefits Live: VA in My Town in Mecklenburg County Aug 22-24

Mecklenburg County is hosting Veterans Benefits Live: VA in my Town from August 22 to August 24, 2024, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Thursday, Aug. 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 23, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event is a single-stop open house that will help veterans and their families or caregivers navigate the many services available to them. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other partners will help attendees, one-on-one, with their benefits, claims, appeals and other concerns.

Services include:

Veterans benefits (on-site claims assistance)
VA healthcare (eligibility and enrollment)
Legal assistance
Mental health and substance abuse screenings
Counseling services
Employment, education, housing, insurance services, etc.
Peer-to-peer connection

Veterans and their dependents should bring their DD214, medical and service records, and dependency documents.
