The 6th Annual Viking Day will take place at Valhalla Pub & Eatery, 317 South Church Street, Saturday, January 27th, 2018, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
There’s no entry fee. Wear your best Viking-wear and celebrate with other Nordic countrymen and countrywomen and “Vikings for a day.”
Here’s a little bit about the maybe not-so-storied history of Viking Day:
Viking Day was created as a Norse alternative to St. Patrick’s Day. In theory, it celebrates Scandinavian heritage and welcomes all Americans to experience the cultural richness of countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. In practice, it’s a great excuse to get together, dress up like Vikings, drink beer, and make new friends!
