Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, along with Lowes and Red Ventures, is offering a chance to participate in a family-friendly project, and help the community at the same time.
For $75, you can order a DIY Cedar Garden Box Kit delivered to your doorstep, with contactless delivery. It will contain the materials to build a garden box for an herb garden that will be 36 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 8 inches deep.
It will come with cilantro, basil, dill, thyme and parsley, as well as soil and instructions.
The only tools you need are a hammer and phillips head screwdriver, but they will provide them if necessary.
Then, on April 25th, 2020, at 2 p.m., tune into Rebuilding Together CLT’s Facebook for a live stream, during which everyone will build their garden boxes together.
If you can’t watch at that time, the video will remain available afterwards.
The kits are available while supplies last, but please order by April 22nd to allow time for delivery. Kit delivery is only available in the Greater Charlotte area.
All proceeds support Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte’s Emergency Repair Program, which provides urgent assistance to neighbors so they can shelter safely at home. Lowe’s will match collected funds up to $5,000. Pop Up Produce and Crown Town Compost are donating the seeds and soil.
